Linocut Portrait Printing @ MAAD

I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening making custom linocut portraits at MAAD last Friday. The crowd was awesome even though it was a wet night!

Got my first customer, a Mexican tourist, right after I set up my table in the museum!

Next up was a young man, a Singaporean. It's always nice to have the support from a fellow countryman! Behind the young man was a big screen showing images from previous MAAD events and I happened to catch my friend MMohawk, the mohawk specialist, by chance!

Then a young lady stopped by and commissioned a portrait for her aunt, whose birthday is just a few days away. How sweet of her!

Before I was aware of it, the crowd was getting bigger and the night was almost over. It was a pity I was not able to accept everyone's request due to the time limit, but I managed to accept a few more commissions that I would do at home and then deliver the finished jobs on another day.

As I was writing this blog post, I had just finished drawing these two portraits for a couple who were patient enough to wait for their prints to be done over the weekend. Really awesome couple whom I enjoyed chatting with and having their portraits drawn!

Just when I decided I had my last customer for the night, a Caucasian man came running to my table and persuaded me to take on one last job before I closed shop. He is from Scotland and a fellow participant and a regular at MAAD, so I was just happy to take him on. He was so pleased when he saw his portrait being rolled out from my table-top press that I felt so glad it made me forget all about my tiredness.

To sum it up, I would say this was my best MAAD ever! Before I sign off, here's a sneak peek of me as a MAADman surrounded by a group of curious onlookers.
